On 14 April, I was invited to give a guest lecture on The Digital Turn in Tourism at the Humanities Department of the University of Trieste. The guest lecture was embedded in the Tourism Geographies course within the degree programme “Foreign languages and literature”
The lecture developed a brief historical understanding of the role that digital technologies and computing play in the production of tourism space and tourism mobility. To exemplify this, the lecture provided an analysis of the impacts that digital platform Airbnb has on cities and everyday life.
Many thanks to Professor Dragan Umek for the invitation and for hosting me!
