Erasmus+ Staff Mobility to Dania Academy Denmark

Between the 2 and 4 June, I visited Dania Academy in Randers, Denmark where I was invited to give a lecture to students enrolled in the BA International Hospitality Management. The lecture broadly covered the various aspects that students encounter when they undertake a research project, such as coming up with research ideas, how to design your research, as well as considering methodology and ethics.

During the meeting I also had the pleasure of meeting my research collaborators Simon Lind Fischer and Torben Engstrøm Underlin. Together we have conducted research into the lives, motivations and challenges of the Aarhus Airbnb hosts during the COVID-19 pandemic and have published a research article.

Torben has been involved in the research work together with us as part of his assistant professorship process, where he has actively participated in the fieldwork to gather empirical evidence and at the same time has gained insight into the process, the workload and the approach to how to design a research article.

The visit was funded through the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching Grant.

In related news, Simon received an award for his project that included our study on the Airbnb host community in Aarhus, Denmark:
