Guest Lecture Tourist Experiences @WUR

Guest lecture at Wageningen University, 22 Jan 2020

This is the third time that I have delivered a guest lecture in the ‘Tourist Experiences‘ course at Wageningen University. The course “examines the conceptualisation and management of the tourism experience in the context of the broader developments of contemporary tourism”. My lecture discussed the role of digital technologies in shaping and making tourist experiences today, using Airbnb as a case study. Like in previous years, it was such a pleasure to be in the company of this fabulous group of students. The active engagement in class and the questions put forward continue to extend my thinking on this topic. And it is always a treat to be reminded of those transformative years at Wageningen University having been a tourism student there myself. Thank you Karolina Doughty for inviting me to give a lecture!
